There isn't much to write about today. We took a nero (near zero), hiking less than four miles to the highway and then hitching a ride into Franklin. We had lunch, bought supplies, rested, did laundry and ate dinner. Franklin is a slightly nicer town than Hiawassee, with a typical small town Main St, but with only 3,000 residents it still doesn't have much to do.
We should be back on the trail tomorrow, unless the forecasted storm hits earlier than expected.

This place reminds me of a stretch of road going through Florala. Magge is looking very refreshed and ready to hike. Picture of you next time. ;)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a restful day. Trust the weather held and you are back at it. We arrived late in Quito last night, headed out to a city tour shortly and the "middle of world." Mags our hotel reminds us of the lovely place we stayed in Cuzco. Fresh roses everywhere and plenty of sun and charming courtyards. The wall hanging outside our room was done by the same artist who did the wall hanging we bought in Peru that we have in our stairwell! Small world. Love you both.
