This is our initial gear list. We will probably send some items home after around 650 miles in (medium weight base layer, gloves, hat). In addition to the base weight, we will be carrying about 2 lbs of food per day per person and 2-4 lbs of water at any given time.
Hopefully I'll be able to post some thoughts on some of the items after they've been extensively field-tested.

The thought and research that went into this is incredible. The food is another aspect of it, Magge sourced, cooked, dried and packaged full days worth of food. Both the gear and the food are impressive
ReplyDeleteAs always Jeffrey and Magge go the distance to make sure they will have the best of time with the best company and the best amenities. It is truly incredible the amount of work that went into planning this two-month walking trip. I am pretty Magge would have dried macarons if she could have for the 'bestest' dessert on the trail.
ReplyDeleteThanks Marcia and Josh for driving them to their initial starting point. Six hours from Chapel Hill to Springer, Georgia, and six hours back home.
