Week 10 pictures
I definitely took fewer pictures when I was on my own. Looking through them, it seems like they were mostly taken for time stamps.
I took this picture because it cracked me up how poorly many hikers hung up their food bags. Any guesses how hard these would be for a bear to get to? No real point in even hanging them.
Another interesting former community in the hills.
My favorite picture from the whole hike. Taken around 6:30am and now hanging on our wall.
Chimney, remnants of an hold house
Week 7 pictures
A year and half later, and I'm going to try to finish uploading these pictures. Every once in a while I find myself reading this log and previous travel posts, so I'm finishing this for my own future viewing.
When selecting pictures for our seventh week on the trail, I had to triple check that they all indeed fell in the same week because they look so different. Great variety in those seven days from the weather to the landscape. This was our first full week in Virginia and I remember why I fell in love with this part of the trail.

If memory serves right, this is the longest footbridge on the trail
Grayson Highland ponies
